Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 4 cups All-Purpose Flour Use good quality flour for fluffiness.
  • 1 teaspoon Fine Salt Enhances flavor and controls fermentation.

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup Warm Water Temperature should be between 100°F to 110°F.
  • 2.25 teaspoons Active Dry Yeast Typically one packet; ensure it's fresh.
  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar Feeds the yeast and aids in browning.
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted Butter Melted; not too hot when added to dough.
  • 1/2 cup Milk Warmed to a similar temperature as water.

Instructions

  • Activate the yeast by combining warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Mix well.
  • Add the yeast mixture, warmed milk, and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Stir until the dough comes together.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Oil a bowl, place the dough inside, cover, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  • Punch down the dough, divide it into 24 pieces, and roll each into a ball.
  • Place three balls in each cup of a greased muffin tin to form cloverleaf shapes.
  • Cover the muffin tin and let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  • Let the rolls cool in the tin for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  • Serve warm with butter or your favorite spread.
