Pasta

Prawns

Garlic

Tomatoes

Chili Flakes

Fresh Basil

  • 1 handful Fresh basil leaves (torn) Add at the end of cooking.

Salt and Pepper

Lemon Juice

  • 1/2 lemon Lemon juice For acidity.

Instructions

  • 1. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions in a large pot of boiling salted water until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve about a cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.
  • 2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent.
  • 3. Add the minced garlic and stir for about 30 seconds, being careful not to burn it.
  • 4. Pour in the diced tomatoes and simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  • 5. Add the red chili flakes and stir well.
  • 6. Introduce the prawns and cook for 3-4 minutes until they turn pink and opaque.
  • 7. Season with salt, pepper, and lemon juice, adjusting to taste.
  • 8. Add the drained pasta to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce, adding reserved pasta water if needed.
  • 9. Stir in the fresh basil leaves and let sit for a minute before serving.
  • 10. Serve hot, garnished with additional basil if desired.

Notes

For variations, consider adding vegetables, using different herbs, or adjusting the spice level. This dish is also great for meal prep.
