Ingredients

Shrimp

  • 1 pound Fresh or frozen shrimp, peeled and deveined Choose large shrimp for better presentation.

Water

  • 4 cups Water Essential for boiling the shrimp.

Lemon

  • 1 Lemon For squeezing over shrimp.

Ice

  • Ice For chilling the shrimp after cooking.

Dipping Sauce

  • ½ cup Mayonnaise Creamy base for the dipping sauce.
  • ¼ cup Ketchup Adds sweetness and tang.
  • 1 tablespoon Horseradish For a spicy kick.
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce Adds depth to the sauce.

Seasoning

  • Salt and Pepper To taste.

Instructions

  • 1. Prepare the shrimp by thawing if frozen, peeling, and deveining.
  • 2. Boil 4 cups of water with a pinch of salt in a large pot.
  • 3. Add shrimp to boiling water and cook for 2-3 minutes until pink and opaque.
  • 4. Prepare an ice bath in a bowl with ice and cold water.
  • 5. Transfer shrimp to the ice bath for 5 minutes to chill.
  • 6. In a mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, and lemon juice.
  • 7. Adjust seasoning of the dipping sauce with salt and pepper.
  • 8. Drain and pat dry the chilled shrimp.
  • 9. Arrange shrimp on a platter and serve with dipping sauce.

Notes

Store leftovers separately in airtight containers. Shrimp lasts up to 2 days, sauce up to a week.
