Instructions

  • Warm ½ cup of milk until lukewarm (110°F). Sprinkle yeast over milk and let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  • In a large bowl, mix pumpkin puree, sugar, butter, and egg until well combined.
  • Add the yeast mixture to the pumpkin mixture and stir. Gradually add flour, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg until a sticky dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • After rising, punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle (14x10 inches).
  • Spread softened butter over the dough, sprinkle with cinnamon, and roll tightly from one edge.
  • Slice the rolled dough into 12 equal pieces and place in a greased baking dish.
  • Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  • Prepare glaze by mixing powdered sugar with a splash of milk until smooth.
  • Drizzle glaze over warm rolls and serve.
