Ingredients

Bread

  • 4-6 slices Thick Bread (Brioche or Challah) Use stale bread for better absorption.

Eggs

  • 2 large Eggs Fresh eggs for the custard base.

Milk

  • 1 cup Whole Milk Adds creaminess to the mixture.

Cinnamon

  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon Adds warmth and flavor.

Salt

  • 1 pinch Salt Enhances flavors.

Butter

  • 2-3 tablespoons Unsalted Butter For frying the French toast.

Instructions

  • Prepare your ingredients by slicing the bread thickly, about 1-inch thick.
  • In a mixing bowl, crack the eggs and whisk them thoroughly until combined.
  • Add the milk to the beaten eggs and mix well until fully combined.
  • Sprinkle in the cinnamon and salt into the egg mixture and stir until well incorporated.
  • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of butter to melt.
  • Dip a slice of bread into the egg mixture, coating both sides without soaking too long.
  • Place the soaked bread slice onto the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
  • Flip the slice over and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the other side is golden brown.
  • Transfer the cooked slice to a warm plate and repeat with remaining slices, adding more butter as needed.
  • Serve warm, optionally keeping them in a low oven while finishing cooking.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
