  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder Optional for a puffed texture.

Instructions

  • Gather all ingredients in a clean workspace. Place the flour in a large mixing bowl.
  • Add salt to the flour and mix evenly.
  • If using, mix in baking powder.
  • In a separate bowl, combine warm water and olive oil.
  • Gradually pour the water and oil mixture into the flour, mixing until combined.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Shape the dough into a ball, cover, and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  • Divide the dough into equal portions and roll each into a circle about 1/8 inch thick.
  • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and cook each flatbread for 1-2 minutes on each side.
  • Remove cooked flatbreads and cover with a towel to keep warm.
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days. Can be frozen for up to three months.
