Olive Oil
Extra virgin olive oil enhances flavor.
3-4
cloves
Garlic
Minced for aromatic flavor.
1
teaspoon
Salt

0.5
teaspoon
Black Pepper
Freshly cracked for a gentle kick.
1
tablespoon
Lemon Juice
Freshly squeezed for brightness.
0.25
cup
Parmesan Cheese
Optional, for extra flavor.
Instructions
Wash the broccoli thoroughly under cool running water, shake off excess water, and pat dry.
Cut the broccoli into bite-sized florets, including the tender stems.
Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil. Allow it to warm until it shimmers.
Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add the broccoli florets to the skillet and toss gently to coat in the olive oil and garlic.
Sprinkle salt and pepper over the broccoli and stir to combine.
Cover the skillet with a lid and let the broccoli steam for about 5 minutes.
Check the broccoli; it should be bright green and slightly tender. If needed, steam for an additional 2-3 minutes.
Remove from heat, squeeze lemon juice over the broccoli, and toss to combine.
If using, sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the warm broccoli and allow it to melt slightly before serving.
Transfer to a serving dish and enjoy warm, garnished with lemon zest or parsley if desired.
Notes
For variations, consider adding red pepper flakes for heat, or other vegetables like bell peppers or carrots.
