Instructions

  • Start by preparing your shrimp. If using frozen shrimp, ensure they are fully thawed and patted dry with paper towels.
  • In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, and sugar. Whisk until smooth.
  • Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the vegetable oil and allow it to heat until shimmering.
  • Add the minced garlic and ginger to the hot oil. Stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes without stirring, then flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes until pink and opaque.
  • Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
  • Add the sliced bell peppers, broccoli florets, and julienned carrots to the skillet. Stir-fry for about 4-5 minutes until tender but still crisp.
  • Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet with the vegetables. Pour the prepared sauce over the mixture and toss until evenly coated.
  • Stir in the chopped green onions and season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat.
  • Serve the shrimp stir fry hot over cooked rice or noodles, or enjoy it on its own.
