  • 1 pound Fresh Green Beans Look for vibrant, firm beans.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil Extra virgin for best flavor.
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced Fresh garlic adds robust flavor.
  • Salt To taste.
  • Pepper To taste.
  • 1/4 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes Optional for heat.
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice Freshly squeezed for brightness.
  • 1/4 cup Sliced Almonds Optional garnish.

Instructions

  • Rinse the green beans under cold water and trim the ends.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  • Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add the green beans and sauté for 5 to 7 minutes until tender-crisp.
  • Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes during the last minute of cooking.
  • Remove from heat and squeeze lemon juice over the beans, tossing to combine.
  • Serve immediately, garnished with sliced almonds if desired.
