Instructions
Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
Remove the turkey from its packaging, rinse under cold water, and pat dry.
Mix softened butter with minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Rub this mixture under the skin of the turkey.
Sprinkle the chopped herbs over the turkey and inside the cavity.
Stuff the cavity with quartered onions, celery, and carrots.
Place the turkey breast-side up on a roasting rack in a large roasting pan. Pour chicken broth into the bottom of the pan.
Cover loosely with aluminum foil and roast, estimating about 13-15 minutes per pound.
Baste the turkey every 30-45 minutes with pan juices.
Remove the foil about 30 minutes before the turkey is done to allow the skin to brown.
Check that the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) in the thickest part of the breast and thigh.
Let the turkey rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.
Strain the pan juices into a saucepan to make gravy.
Carve the turkey and serve with roasted vegetables and gravy.
