Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the caramel by melting sugar in a saucepan over medium heat until it turns amber. Pour into flan mold and set aside.
Step 2: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Step 3: In a mixing bowl, whisk the eggs until blended.
Step 4: Add sweetened condensed milk and evaporated milk to the eggs, whisking until combined.
Step 5: Incorporate vanilla and salt into the mixture.
Step 6: Pour custard mixture over the caramel in the mold.
Step 7: Place the mold in a baking dish and fill with hot water halfway up the sides of the mold.
Step 8: Bake for 50-60 minutes until set, with a slight jiggle in the center.
Step 9: Cool in the water bath for 30 minutes, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
Step 10: Run a knife around the edge and invert onto a platter to serve.
Step 11: Slice and serve chilled.
