Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then incorporate the vanilla flavoring.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined.
  • Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  • Roll out the chilled dough to about ¼ inch thickness and cut out shapes using cookie cutters.
  • Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
