Instructions

  • Prepare the Ingredients: Gather all ingredients, mince garlic, zest lemon, and squeeze juice.
  • Cook the Orzo: In a medium saucepan, bring vegetable broth to a boil. Add orzo and a pinch of salt. Cook for 8-10 minutes until al dente.
  • Drain the Orzo: Remove from heat and drain the orzo in a colander.
  • Sauté the Aromatics: In the same saucepan, heat olive oil and butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Add the Orzo: Return drained orzo to the saucepan, tossing in the garlic-infused oil.
  • Incorporate the Lemon: Add lemon juice and zest, stirring to combine.
  • Finish with Cheese and Herbs: Remove from heat, fold in Parmesan and parsley. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve and Enjoy: Transfer to a serving bowl, garnish with parsley or lemon zest, and serve warm or chilled.
