Instructions
Chop the onion finely and set it aside.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape into oval patties, about ¾ inch thick.
Heat the cooking oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through.
Transfer the cooked patties to a plate and cover with foil to keep warm.
In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add flour. Stir for about 1 minute.
Whisk in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce until thickened, about 4-5 minutes.
Return the patties to the skillet, spoon gravy over them, and simmer on low for 5 minutes.
Let sit for a few minutes before serving warm with gravy.
Notes
Serve with mashed potatoes or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
