Instructions
Season the brisket generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
In a large pot, heat olive oil and sear the brisket for 4-5 minutes on each side.
Remove brisket and sauté onions, carrots, and celery for 5-7 minutes until softened.
Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
Return brisket to the pot, add crushed tomatoes and beef broth, and stir well.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 3-4 hours until brisket is tender.
Shred the brisket and return it to the sauce.
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, half of the Parmesan, and season with salt and pepper.
Assemble the lasagna in a baking dish, layering brisket ragù, noodles, ricotta, and mozzarella.
Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes.
Let the lasagna rest for 15 minutes before slicing and serving with fresh basil.
