Steak

  • 1 to 1.5 pounds Ribeye or Filet Mignon High-quality cut, bring to room temperature before cooking.

Seasoning

Garlic Butter Mixture

  • 0.5 cup Unsalted Butter Softened to room temperature.
  • 4-5 cloves Fresh Garlic Finely minced.
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Herbs (Rosemary, Thyme, Parsley) Roughly chopped.

Instructions

  • 1. Remove the steak from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Pat dry with paper towels.
  • 2. In a medium bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, chopped herbs, and lemon juice. Mix well and set aside.
  • 3. Season the steak generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • 4. Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and heat until shimmering.
  • 5. Place the steak in the skillet and sear for 4-5 minutes until a golden-brown crust forms.
  • 6. Flip the steak and add half of the garlic butter mixture to the pan. Allow it to melt and coat the steak.
  • 7. Baste the steak with the melted garlic butter while cooking for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare.
  • 8. Check doneness with a meat thermometer; remove from skillet at 130-135°F (54-57°C).
  • 9. Let the steak rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing against the grain.
  • 10. Serve sliced steak on a platter, drizzled with remaining garlic butter.

For variations, consider adding red pepper flakes for spice or using different herbs.
