Instructions
1. Remove the steak from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Pat dry with paper towels.
2. In a medium bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, chopped herbs, and lemon juice. Mix well and set aside.
3. Season the steak generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
4. Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and heat until shimmering.
5. Place the steak in the skillet and sear for 4-5 minutes until a golden-brown crust forms.
6. Flip the steak and add half of the garlic butter mixture to the pan. Allow it to melt and coat the steak.
7. Baste the steak with the melted garlic butter while cooking for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare.
8. Check doneness with a meat thermometer; remove from skillet at 130-135°F (54-57°C).
9. Let the steak rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing against the grain.
10. Serve sliced steak on a platter, drizzled with remaining garlic butter.
Notes
For variations, consider adding red pepper flakes for spice or using different herbs.
