  • 1 package Wonton wrappers Approximately 12 ounces, found in the refrigerated section.
  • 2-3 cups Vegetable oil For frying, can also use canola oil.
  • ½ teaspoon Salt Adjust based on taste preferences.
  • Optional seasonings Garlic powder, onion powder, or cayenne pepper to taste.
  • Serving dips Sweet and sour sauce, soy sauce, or spicy dipping sauce.

Instructions

  • Prepare your workspace with all ingredients and tools.
  • Stack wonton wrappers and cut into thin strips, about ½ inch wide.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  • Season wonton strips with salt and optional spices if desired.
  • Fry wonton strips in batches for 2-3 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove fried strips with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving with dipping sauces or as a garnish.

Notes

Store leftover fried wonton strips in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days.
