  • 4 medium Ripe Tomatoes Firm yet slightly soft to the touch.
  • 0.5 medium Red Onion Finely chopped for a sharp flavor.
  • 0.25 cup Fresh Cilantro Chopped and washed thoroughly.
  • 1 medium Lime Juice Freshly squeezed for best flavor.
  • 1 small Jalapeño Pepper Finely chopped, seeds removed for milder salsa.
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1 dash Black Pepper Freshly ground for flavor.

Instructions

  • Gather all your ingredients on a clean cutting board.
  • Rinse the tomatoes under cold water, pat dry, cut in half, remove seeds, and chop into small pieces.
  • Peel and rinse the red onion, then chop it into small pieces.
  • Prepare the jalapeño by removing seeds and chopping finely.
  • Chop the fresh cilantro and set aside.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, combine tomatoes, red onion, jalapeño, and cilantro.
  • Squeeze lime juice over the mixture, add salt and black pepper, and stir to combine.
  • Let the salsa rest for at least 15 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  • Give the salsa a final stir, adjust seasoning if necessary, and serve.
