Instructions
Begin by preparing your ingredients. Open the canned tuna and drain it thoroughly to remove excess liquid.
Rinse the apple under cold water, then core and dice it into small pieces.
Chop the celery into small, uniform pieces.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained tuna, diced apple, and chopped celery. Use a fork to break up the tuna slightly and mix gently.
In a small bowl, prepare the dressing by whisking together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, salt, and pepper until smooth.
Pour the dressing over the tuna mixture and gently fold it in with a spatula.
Taste the salad and adjust seasoning if necessary.
If using parsley, chop it finely and sprinkle over the top.
Cover the bowl and refrigerate for about 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
After chilling, give the salad a gentle stir before serving.
Serve on a bed of lettuce, in a sandwich, or with crackers.
Notes
This salad is highly adaptable; consider adding nuts, dried fruits, or different herbs for variations.
