Wet Ingredients
1cupWarm water110°F, essential for activating yeast.
¼cupUnsalted butterMelted, adds richness and flavor.
1largeEggEnriches dough and adds color.
Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm water, granulated sugar, and instant yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
Once the yeast mixture is frothy, add the melted butter and egg to the bowl. Mix well until everything is combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until a shaggy dough forms.
Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface. Knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Form the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl, turning to coat. Cover and let it rest in a warm area for about 30 minutes.
After resting, punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces, shaping each into a ball. Place in a greased baking dish.
Cover the dish and let the rolls rise for another 15 minutes.
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
Remove from the oven and brush the tops with melted butter. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For variations, consider adding herbs, garlic, or cheese to the dough.
