Ingredients

Popcorn Kernels

  • 0.5 cup Popcorn Kernels Choose high-quality, fresh kernels for the best results.

Oil

  • 2-3 tablespoons Neutral Oil (Canola or Coconut) For coating the kernels properly.

Salt

  • 1 teaspoon Salt Adjust based on taste.

Butter (optional)

  • 2 tablespoons Melted Butter Adds a rich flavor to the popcorn.

Flavorings (optional)

  • Various Flavorings Nutritional yeast, spices, or cheese powder can be added.

Instructions

  • Heat a medium-sized pot over medium heat for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the oil and test with 2-3 kernels. Wait for them to pop.
  • Remove test kernels and add the remaining popcorn kernels in an even layer.
  • Cover the pot with a lid, leaving it slightly ajar to allow steam to escape.
  • Shake the pot gently every few seconds until popping slows to 2 seconds between pops.
  • Remove from heat and lift the lid to let steam escape.
  • Transfer popcorn to a large bowl, drizzle with melted butter, and add any flavorings.
  • Season with salt to taste and toss to coat.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
