  • Whisk
  • Fine Mesh Strainer
  • Serving cups or ramekins

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Heavy Cream Provides the rich texture.
  • 1 cup Whole Milk Balances the richness of the heavy cream.
  • 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar Sweetens the panna cotta.
  • 2 teaspoons Powdered Gelatin Acts as a stabilizer.
  • 3 tablespoons Cold Water Used to bloom the gelatin.
  • 1-2 teaspoons Flavoring (Optional) Citrus zest, herbs, or fruit puree can be added.

Instructions

  • Gather all ingredients. In a medium saucepan, combine heavy cream and whole milk over low heat.
  • Stir gently as the mixture warms. Add granulated sugar and whisk until dissolved.
  • In a small bowl, sprinkle gelatin over cold water and let it bloom for 5-10 minutes.
  • Once the cream mixture is warm and sugar is dissolved, remove from heat and stir in bloomed gelatin until fully melted.
  • If using flavoring, add it now and mix well.
  • Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then pour into serving cups, using a strainer to ensure a smooth texture.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to set.
  • To serve, dip cups in warm water to loosen edges or serve directly in cups. Top with fresh berries or sauce if desired.

Notes

For variations, consider adding pureed fruits, herbs, or chocolate to the mixture.
