Ingredients

Meatloaf Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground Beef 80% lean for optimal moisture and flavor.
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs Serves as a binding agent.
  • 2 large Eggs Helps bind the ingredients together.
  • 1 medium Onion Finely chopped and sautéed.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced for flavor enhancement.
  • 1/2 cup Ketchup Used as a glaze and flavor enhancer.
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce Adds umami flavor.
  • 1 tsp Salt Essential for seasoning.
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper Essential for seasoning.
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Parsley Chopped for freshness.

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a medium skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  • Once the onion is softened, add the minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute. Set aside to cool slightly.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, sautéed onion and garlic, eggs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and parsley. Mix until just combined.
  • Transfer the meat mixture to a loaf pan, shaping it into a loaf.
  • Spread a thin layer of ketchup over the top of the meatloaf.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  • Once cooked, remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
  • Slice the meatloaf carefully and serve hot.
