  • 2 tablespoons Red Onion Finely chopped for a subtle depth of flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Cilantro Chopped; optional for those who prefer a milder flavor.
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt Adjust according to taste preference.

Instructions

  • Begin by selecting perfectly ripe avocados. Cut the avocados in half around the pit and twist to separate the halves. Use a spoon to scoop out the flesh into a mixing bowl.
  • Using a fork or a potato masher, mash the avocado to your desired level of creaminess.
  • Squeeze the juice of one lime over the mashed avocado and stir until well incorporated.
  • Add the diced tomatoes to the bowl and gently fold them into the avocado mixture.
  • Incorporate the finely chopped red onion and fold it in gently to combine.
  • Chop the fresh cilantro and add it to the mixture, if using. Stir it in thoroughly.
  • Season with salt, starting with about ΒΌ teaspoon. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  • Transfer the guacamole to a serving bowl and garnish with additional cilantro or a slice of lime if desired.
  • Serve immediately with tortilla chips, vegetable sticks, or as a topping for your favorite dishes.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Press plastic wrap directly onto the surface to prevent browning.
