Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, sugar, and salt. Whisk until well blended.
  • Add softened butter and mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Beat the egg and add it to the mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  • Press the dough into a tart pan and prick the bottom with a fork.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes until set. Let cool completely.
  • In a saucepan, heat heavy cream until simmering. Pour over chopped chocolate and let sit for a minute.
  • Whisk until smooth. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, if using.
  • Pour the filling into the cooled crust and smooth the top.
  • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours until set.
  • Slice and serve, optionally garnished with fresh fruits or whipped cream.
