2
ounces
Hot Water
Water should be just below boiling, around 175°F.
1
cup
Milk
Use dairy or non-dairy milk of your choice.
1
teaspoon
Sweetener
Adjust based on preference (honey, agave, or sugar).
1/4
teaspoon
Vanilla Extract
Adds subtle sweetness and aroma.
Instructions
Measure out 1 to 2 teaspoons of matcha powder and sift it into a small bowl or mug.
Heat approximately 2 ounces of water until just below boiling. Pour this hot water over the sifted matcha powder and whisk until frothy.
In a saucepan, heat 1 cup of milk over medium heat, stirring occasionally. If making an iced latte, skip this step.
Add sweetener and vanilla extract to the matcha mixture and stir well.
Once the milk is hot, remove it from heat. If desired, froth the milk for a creamy finish.
Pour the heated milk into the matcha mixture, holding back any foam if desired.
Top with remaining milk foam and sprinkle a bit of matcha powder on top for presentation. Enjoy warm or chilled!
Notes
Customize with cocoa powder, spices, or flavored syrups for variations.
