Ingredients

Matcha Latte Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon Matcha Powder Use high-quality, culinary-grade matcha powder.
  • 2 ounces Hot Water Water should be just below boiling, around 175°F.
  • 1 cup Milk Use dairy or non-dairy milk of your choice.
  • 1 teaspoon Sweetener Adjust based on preference (honey, agave, or sugar).
  • 1/4 teaspoon Vanilla Extract Adds subtle sweetness and aroma.

Instructions

  • Measure out 1 to 2 teaspoons of matcha powder and sift it into a small bowl or mug.
  • Heat approximately 2 ounces of water until just below boiling. Pour this hot water over the sifted matcha powder and whisk until frothy.
  • In a saucepan, heat 1 cup of milk over medium heat, stirring occasionally. If making an iced latte, skip this step.
  • Add sweetener and vanilla extract to the matcha mixture and stir well.
  • Once the milk is hot, remove it from heat. If desired, froth the milk for a creamy finish.
  • Pour the heated milk into the matcha mixture, holding back any foam if desired.
  • Top with remaining milk foam and sprinkle a bit of matcha powder on top for presentation. Enjoy warm or chilled!
