  • 2 cups Fresh Strawberries Washed, hulled, and sliced.
  • 1 cup Fresh Lemon Juice Approximately 4-6 lemons, avoid bottled juice.
  • 3/4 cup Granulated Sugar Adjust to taste, can substitute with honey or agave.
  • 4 cups Cold Water Use filtered water for best taste.
  • as needed Ice Cubes For serving chilled.

Instructions

  • Wash and slice the strawberries, then combine with 1/4 cup of sugar in a saucepan and let sit for 10-15 minutes.
  • Roll lemons on the countertop, cut in half, and squeeze out 1 cup of lemon juice.
  • Heat the strawberry mixture with 2 cups of water over medium heat until sugar dissolves and strawberries soften, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Strain the mixture into a pitcher, discarding solids, and add the lemon juice.
  • Add 2 cups of cold water, stir well, and adjust sweetness if needed.
  • Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving over ice.
  • Garnish with lemon slices or strawberries and serve immediately.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
