Ingredients

Bread

  • 4 slices Thick White Bread or Brioche Each slice should be about 1 inch thick.

Eggs

  • 2 large Eggs Whisked until fully combined.

Milk

  • 1/4 cup Whole Milk Adds creaminess to the egg mixture.

Sugar

  • 1 tablespoon Granulated Sugar Adjust based on preference.

Butter

  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter For frying.

Powdered Sugar

  • 1-2 tablespoons Powdered Sugar For garnish.

Syrup

  • 1/4 cup Maple Syrup or Honey For serving.

Instructions

  • Prepare your workspace and gather all the ingredients.
  • In a mixing bowl, crack open the eggs and beat them thoroughly.
  • Add milk and sugar to the beaten eggs and mix until smooth.
  • Soak each slice of bread in the egg mixture for about 30 seconds on each side.
  • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and melt the butter.
  • Fry the soaked bread slices for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Remove the toast from the skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate.
  • Repeat the frying process with the remaining slices, adding more butter as needed.
  • Serve the French toast sprinkled with powdered sugar and drizzled with syrup.

For variations, consider adding cinnamon, fresh fruits, or even stuffing the bread with cream cheese.
