Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Vegetable Brush
  • Kitchen Towel

Ingredients

Potatoes

  • 2 pounds Yukon Gold or Russet Potatoes Medium-sized, starchy texture for crispiness.

Olive Oil

  • 3 tablespoons Olive Oil To coat the potatoes evenly.

Salt

  • 1 teaspoon Salt Essential for enhancing flavor.

Paprika

  • 1 teaspoon Paprika For smoky flavor and color.

Garlic Powder

  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Adds savory aroma.

Black Pepper

  • 1 pinch Black Pepper For slight kick.

Fresh Herbs (Optional)

  • Fresh Herbs (like rosemary or parsley) For garnishing.

Instructions

  • 1. Start by selecting your potatoes. Choose two pounds of Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes, as their starchy nature makes them ideal for achieving the perfect texture.
  • 2. Wash the potatoes thoroughly under cold running water to remove any dirt or debris. Scrub them gently with a vegetable brush for best results.
  • 3. Once clean, dry the potatoes with a kitchen towel. This step is crucial, as moisture on the surface can prevent them from getting crispy in the air fryer.
  • 4. Next, cut the potatoes into evenly-sized cubes, about one inch in diameter. This ensures that they cook uniformly.
  • 5. Transfer the potato cubes into a large mixing bowl. Drizzle three tablespoons of olive oil over them, ensuring each piece is adequately coated.
  • 6. Sprinkle one teaspoon of salt, one teaspoon of paprika, one teaspoon of garlic powder, and a pinch of black pepper over the oiled potatoes. Toss everything together until evenly coated.
  • 7. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  • 8. Once preheated, place the seasoned potatoes in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Avoid overcrowding.
  • 9. Cook the potatoes for 15 minutes. After 7 minutes, pause the air fryer and give the basket a good shake to toss the potatoes.
  • 10. Continue cooking for the remaining time, keeping an eye on them for a rich golden color and crispy texture.
  • 11. Once the cooking time is complete, carefully remove the potatoes from the air fryer. They should be beautifully crispy and fragrant.
  • 12. If desired, sprinkle some fresh herbs on top for added flavor and presentation. Serve immediately.
