  • 2 pounds Sweet Potatoes Peeled and cubed
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted Butter Room temperature
  • 1/2 cup Whole Milk Or milk alternative
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper Freshly ground

  • Chopped Fresh Herbs Such as chives or parsley

Instructions

  • Peel and cube the sweet potatoes into even-sized pieces.
  • Place the cubed sweet potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water, adding a pinch of salt.
  • Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce to a simmer and cook for 15-20 minutes until tender.
  • Drain the sweet potatoes and let them sit for a minute to release steam.
  • Transfer to a mixing bowl and mash the sweet potatoes until smooth.
  • Add the butter and mash until melted and incorporated.
  • Gradually add the milk while mashing to achieve desired consistency.
  • Season with salt and pepper, adjusting to taste.
  • Optional: Garnish with chopped fresh herbs before serving.
  • Serve warm as a side dish.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently.
