Instructions
Peel and cube the sweet potatoes into even-sized pieces.
Place the cubed sweet potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water, adding a pinch of salt.
Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce to a simmer and cook for 15-20 minutes until tender.
Drain the sweet potatoes and let them sit for a minute to release steam.
Transfer to a mixing bowl and mash the sweet potatoes until smooth.
Add the butter and mash until melted and incorporated.
Gradually add the milk while mashing to achieve desired consistency.
Season with salt and pepper, adjusting to taste.
Optional: Garnish with chopped fresh herbs before serving.
Serve warm as a side dish.
