  • 1 teaspoon Pure vanilla extract Enhances the flavor profile.
  • 24 pieces Ladyfingers (savoiardi) Soaked in coffee for structure.
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder For dusting the top.
  • Grated dark chocolate Optional for extra flavor.

Instructions

  • 1. Brew a strong cup of coffee and let it cool to room temperature.
  • 2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk the egg yolks and granulated sugar until pale and creamy, about 5 minutes.
  • 3. Gently fold in the mascarpone cheese until smooth.
  • 4. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  • 5. Fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined.
  • 6. Dip each ladyfinger into the cooled coffee and place them in a single layer in a dish.
  • 7. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
  • 8. Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
  • 9. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  • 10. Dust with cocoa powder before serving.

Notes

For variations, consider adding flavored extracts or layers of fruit.
