Ingredients

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup Unsalted butter Softened at room temperature.
  • 1.5 cups Granulated sugar Adds sweetness and crisp edges.
  • 1 large Egg Binds ingredients together.
  • 1 teaspoon Pure vanilla extract Enhances flavor.

Optional

  • 0.5 cup Powdered sugar For dusting or decoration.

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the egg and vanilla extract to the mixture and beat until combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  • Use a cookie scoop to portion out the dough onto the prepared baking sheets.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are lightly golden and centers are soft.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  • Dust with powdered sugar or decorate as desired once cooled.
