Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  • While the filling simmers, boil the peeled and cubed potatoes in salted water until fork-tender (15-20 minutes).
  • Drain the potatoes, return to the pot, and mash with butter and milk until smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Spread the meat filling in a greased baking dish and top with mashed potatoes, spreading evenly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden brown.
  • Let the shepherd's pie rest for a few minutes before serving.
