Meat

  • 3-4 pounds Chuck Roast Ideal for its rich flavor and tenderness when slow-cooked.

Seasonings

  • 1 packet Ranch Seasoning Mix Adds tang and depth of flavor.
  • 1 packet Au Jus Gravy Mix Essential for creating a rich sauce.
  • 1 stick Unsalted Butter Enhances richness and flavor.

Vegetables

  • 3-4 medium Carrots Peeled and cut into chunks.
  • 4 medium Potatoes Peeled and cut into quarters.
  • 2-3 stalks Celery Chopped into pieces.
  • 1 cup Beef Broth Keeps the roast moist during cooking.

Spices

  • to taste Black Pepper Freshly ground for seasoning.

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C).
  • Season the chuck roast generously with black pepper on both sides.
  • In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat. Sear the chuck roast for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden-brown.
  • Transfer the roast to a large roasting pan or Dutch oven.
  • Sprinkle the ranch seasoning mix and au jus gravy mix evenly over the roast.
  • Add the stick of butter on top of the roast.
  • Arrange the chopped carrots, potatoes, and celery around the roast.
  • Pour one cup of beef broth around the roast and vegetables.
  • Cover the roasting pan tightly with a lid or aluminum foil.
  • Place the roasting pan in the preheated oven and cook for approximately 4-5 hours.
  • Once done, let the roast rest for about 15-20 minutes before slicing.
  • Slice the pot roast against the grain and serve with the vegetables and pan juices.
