  • 1 pound Chicken Sausage Sliced into rounds.
  • 3 cups Pasta Uncooked, such as penne or rotini.
  • 2 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1 cup Sharp Cheddar Cheese Shredded.
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • 3-4 cloves Garlic Minced.
  • 1 medium Onion Diced.
  • 1 cup Chopped Vegetables Optional, like bell peppers or spinach.
  • 1 tablespoon Italian Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Salt To taste.
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black Pepper To taste.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil For sautéing.

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent.
  • Add minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  • Incorporate sliced chicken sausage and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned.
  • If using, add chopped vegetables and cook for another 3-4 minutes.
  • In a bowl, combine cooked pasta, sautéed mixture, heavy cream, mozzarella, cheddar, and Italian seasoning. Stir to coat and season with salt and pepper.
  • Transfer to a greased 9x13-inch baking dish and top with additional mozzarella.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  • Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
