Instructions

  • 1. Prepare the spice blend by combining paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, dried oregano, black pepper, and salt in a small bowl. Mix well.
  • 2. Place the peeled and deveined shrimp in a mixing bowl. Drizzle olive oil over the shrimp and sprinkle the spice blend onto them. Toss until well coated and let marinate for 15-30 minutes.
  • 3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the unsalted butter, allowing it to melt and coat the bottom of the pan.
  • 4. Once the butter is hot, add the seasoned shrimp in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes until dark and charred, then flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes until opaque.
  • 5. Remove shrimp from the skillet and transfer to a serving platter. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top and garnish with parsley if desired.
  • 6. Serve immediately while hot and enjoy!

Keep an eye on the shrimp to avoid burning. The high heat is essential for achieving the signature blackened crust.
