Ingredients

Fresh Berries

Cake

  • 1 pound sponge cake or pound cake A light and airy sponge cake works well.

Whipped Cream

  • 2 cups heavy cream Use high-quality cream for richer taste.
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar Adjust based on desired sweetness.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Opt for pure vanilla extract for best flavor.

Custard

  • 1 cup vanilla pudding or custard Use store-bought or homemade.

Garnish

  • to taste mint leaves Optional, for garnish.

Instructions

  • Prepare the cake: Slice store-bought sponge or pound cake into even layers.
  • Whip the cream: In a mixing bowl, combine heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Whip until soft peaks form.
  • Prepare the pudding: If using store-bought pudding, prepare according to package instructions.
  • Start layering: In a trifle bowl or individual glasses, add a layer of cake at the bottom.
  • Add berries: Layer mixed berries on top of the cake.
  • Add whipped cream: Spoon a layer of whipped cream over the berries.
  • Add pudding: Spoon a layer of vanilla pudding or custard over the whipped cream.
  • Repeat layers: Continue layering cake, berries, whipped cream, and pudding until the bowl is full.
  • Finish with berries: Top with fresh berries and mint leaves.
  • Chill: Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
