Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Slice your loaf of bread into thick slices, about 1 to 1.5 inches each.
  • Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter.
  • Layer the bread slices in the prepared baking dish, overlapping them slightly.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg, and salt until fully combined.
  • Pour the custard over the bread and gently press down to ensure every piece is coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
  • Bake uncovered for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the custard is set.
