Ingredients

Apples

  • 4 large Apples (Fuji, Honeycrisp, or Granny Smith) Choose a variety that is crisp and sweet.
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon (optional) Enhances the natural sweetness of the apples.
  • 1 tablespoon Honey or Maple Syrup (optional) For added sweetness and caramelization.
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Lemon Juice Prevents browning and enhances flavor.

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 225°F (110°C).
  • Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Wash and slice the apples into thin slices, about 1/8-inch thick.
  • Soak the apple slices in a mixture of lemon juice and water for 5-10 minutes.
  • Drain and pat the apple slices dry with a clean kitchen towel.
  • Arrange the apple slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheets.
  • If desired, sprinkle cinnamon or drizzle honey/maple syrup over the apple slices.
  • Bake for 1.5 to 2 hours, rotating the baking sheets halfway through.
  • Allow the apple chips to cool on the baking sheets before storing.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature.

Notes

These baked apple chips can be enjoyed as a healthy snack or used in various dishes. They are best enjoyed fresh but can last for a week when stored properly.
