Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe Avocados Choose avocados that yield slightly to pressure for optimal creaminess.
  • 1 medium Tomato Use a ripe, juicy tomato for the best flavor; Roma or vine-ripened varieties work well.
  • 1/4 cup Red Onion Finely chopped for mild sweetness and color.
  • 1 pepper Jalapeño Minced; adjust based on spice tolerance; remove seeds for less heat.
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Cilantro Chopped for a fresh, herbaceous note.
  • 1 lime Lime Juiced; about 2 tablespoons.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt Enhances the natural flavors.
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper Adds warmth and complexity.
  • 1/4 teaspoon Garlic Powder Optional; for a garlicky punch without the raw garlic bite.

Instructions

  • Cut the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl. Mash the avocado to your desired level of creaminess.
  • Finely chop the tomato and add it to the bowl with the mashed avocado.
  • Finely chop the red onion and add it to the mixing bowl.
  • If using jalapeño, mince it and add to the bowl.
  • Chop the fresh cilantro and add it to the mixture.
  • Juice the lime and pour it over the avocado mixture.
  • Season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder (if using). Gently mix until well combined.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning as necessary. Transfer to a serving bowl.
  • If not serving immediately, cover with plastic wrap pressed onto the surface to minimize oxidation and refrigerate.
