Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Skillet or Wok

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound Beef Flank Steak Thinly sliced against the grain.
  • 1/2 cup Soy Sauce Adds depth and umami flavor.
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar Balances the saltiness of the soy sauce.
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Ginger Minced for flavor.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced for flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil For cooking the beef.
  • 2-3 Green Onions Chopped for garnish.
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Seeds Optional for garnish.

Instructions

  • Begin by preparing your ingredients. Thinly slice the flank steak against the grain into bite-sized pieces.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, minced ginger, and minced garlic. Whisk until the sugar is fully dissolved.
  • Add the sliced beef to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Allow to marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat until hot.
  • Add the marinated beef to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes without stirring.
  • Stir-fry the beef for an additional 2-3 minutes until cooked through and tender.
  • Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside. Sauté the chopped green onions in the same skillet for about 1 minute.
  • Return the cooked beef to the skillet, pour any remaining marinade over it, and stir well to coat.
  • Once the sauce has thickened, remove from heat and serve hot over rice or noodles.
  • Optionally, sprinkle sesame seeds on top before serving.

Notes

For variations, consider adding vegetables or adjusting the sweetness to your preference.
