Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound Steak (flank or sirloin) Slice against the grain for tenderness.
  • 2 Bell Peppers (mixed colors) Sliced into strips.
  • 1 large Onion (yellow or red) Sliced into rings or half-moons.
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced) Fresh garlic recommended.
  • 2 tablespoons Fajita Seasoning Store-bought or homemade.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil For sautéing.
  • 1 Lime Juice (from 1 lime) Fresh lime juice preferred.
  • Salt and Pepper To taste.
  • Tortillas For serving, flour or corn.
  • Fresh Cilantro For garnish.

Instructions

  • Slice the steak against the grain into thin strips and set aside.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine minced garlic, fajita seasoning, lime juice, salt, and pepper. Add the steak and marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  • Slice the bell peppers and onion while the steak marinates.
  • Heat a large pot over medium-high heat, add olive oil, and let it shimmer.
  • Add the marinated steak to the pot and sauté for 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  • Add sliced onions to the pot and sauté for 2-3 minutes, then add bell peppers and cook for another 5-7 minutes.
  • Return the cooked steak to the pot, mix with vegetables, and heat through for 1-2 minutes.
  • Adjust seasoning if necessary, then remove from heat.
  • Warm tortillas and serve with the steak and vegetable mixture, garnished with cilantro.
