Instructions
Gather all your ingredients on the counter.
In a medium saucepan, pour in 2 cups of full-fat coconut milk and set the heat to medium-low.
Add 1 teaspoon of ground turmeric and whisk to combine.
Incorporate 1 teaspoon of freshly grated ginger and whisk vigorously.
Add 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon and stir well.
Sprinkle in 1/4 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper and stir.
Heat for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Taste the mixture and add sweetener if desired.
If using, scrape the seeds from a vanilla bean and add them to the mixture.
Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly before serving.
Strain through a fine-mesh sieve if desired, then serve hot.
